Through careful planning, partnering, and execution, Out4Good utilizes “green technology” in its developments. Green technology (also known as “clean technology”) refers to continuously evolving processes, practices, applications and materials that improve upon or replace existing technologies while substantially decreasing our impact on the planet. Focusing on the specific goals of green technology provides a laser focus to implement sustainable practices.
Energy conservation is essential both to minimize our current usage of fossil fuels, and ultimately to completely replace them with renewable energy sources. Energy needs can be reduced through, for example, the use of efficient devices that require less power to work, such as LED lighting systems.
Buildings can be designed to demand less energy by using more effective insulation, maximizing the use of natural lighting, and using passive solar heating and cooling. Installation of solar panels on structures increases self-sustainability by lowering dependency upon, and demand from, main power grids.
